Razors Edge ★ Posted January 11 Share #1 Posted January 11 My brother is taking the two kids to Orlando again this year, and is buying the various tickets for parks now. He shot me his latest rant - Universal ticket for a single day for him, wife, and two kids. BWAHAHAHA. No food or drink (and parking?) included. What a racket. I get why @Tizeye writes about non-theme park Orlando and FL. 1

Longjohn ★ Posted January 11 Share #3 Posted January 11 We went to Disney when I retired in 2016. We bought five day passes and it was ideal timing. Only had four grandkids at the time and I think the youngest one got in free. They have had major price increases since then and they now charge for everybody. My twin grandsons were born the next year and Disney is now priced themselves out of reach for this grandpa. That’s ok, there are lots of ways to have fun with the grandkids that are not expensive. 1

They don’t even give senior discounts. 1 1

First you have to buy the tickets then picking which park and the date is a separate process. What a Mickey Mouse operation 1

What a Mickey Mouse operation Article in the paper today about them revamping some of the prices and an assortment of tweaks to park timing, reservation, and parking rules.
ChrisL Posted January 11 Share #9 Posted January 11 I guess one perk of living in SoCal is easy access to the theme parks. They used to offer discounts if you lived in certain zip codes to encourage locals but I don’t think those are offered anymore. My daughter & SIL are annual pass holders and go to Disneyland often. Sometimes just for the evening or will take a day off & go for 1/2 a day.
Kirby ★ Posted January 11 Share #10 Posted January 11 Well at least the kids tickets are $5 less! But your relatives are big spenders getting the express pass! Don't they want to spend their vacation waiting on line?

Tou absolutely need a second mortgage to go there. Plus even Florida and annual passes went up, and people are dropping them. Did see where SunRail announced last was expanding with an airport to Universal line which will be its first crossing of the single line that runs from Deland/DeBary to Kissimmee/Ponciana and the fare is $1 per county, spanning 4 counties. Disney tried to get an airport line - but wanted an exclusive bypassing Universal, Sea World, and I-Drive which are naturally along the route, but failed. 1
