RIP Jeff Beck

Recommended Posts

aw, that's too bad.  RIP.  Overall I wasn't a fan of Beck's like I was of Page and Clapton, but he did some incredible stuff.  The first time I heard this one it blew me away.  Oddly, I learned of it reading a Led Zeppelin bio...   This album - with Rod Stewart singing bluesy vocals on many tracks - is fantastic.  I did not know, just read, that it features John Paul Jones on bass and Keith Moon on drums.

I have read that Beck rarely if ever played improvised solos.... all composed/rehearsed.  I thought that was interesting.

That is the signature Jeff Beck song in my noggin too, Trenton. This calls for some heavy listening tonight. :) It already started playing in my head. :D

He has some good videos with the young pup lady bass player whose name is escaping me at the moment.

Jeff Beck preferred Fender guitars to Les Paul’s. Once when he met Les Paul, Jeff was playing a Fender. Les Paul said, why are you playing that piece of crap. Jeff replied that it’s lighter than your guitar, I’d have to drill holes in the back of yours to match the weight.
