Absolutely great news about Waffle

There was literally a crazy cat lady that wanted him.  She houses a ton of cats.  She had this large heated garage facility that is home to all kinds of cats.  I politely told her that her scenario might not be ideal for him.  He wanys attention and too many other animals, he might get lost amounst in the fray.  Someone in her family told me that there is like 50 cats there.

I like happy endings…

You did a good thing DH.

When I opened that can of tuna, I was thinking "What the hell am I doing?  What happens after this?"

Then the worming into our life began.

This cat is clean, soft, cuddly and he smells fantastic.  His presence will be missed.

I hope Waffle gets a forwarding address for those bastards in the Sunshine Committee.

He will be living in an area that is a resort area.  Imagine beautiful huge trees, and crystal clean water from springs that flow into our lake.

This sounds like a wonderful solution.  I know you'll miss him, but Waffle sounds like a cat who will like a lot of attention and it would be hard when you went on extended trips.  Happy to think of Waffle as a spoiled indoor kitty.   You did a good thing matching these two up and giving Waffle a great life.   And this man is getting a great cat!

I know you are not cat people...  but when this happens sometimes you become cat people.

I'm glad this worked out for you and Waffle.  :)

I wasn't aware of all these developments with Waffle, DH.  You did the right thing and for next owner who is so happy and will treat Waffle kindly.

Multiple reasons.  Allergies in the house were worsening quickly after his many inside visits.  I learned from everyone here that inside is better than outside.  Waffle deserves much better than we could give him.  He needs a home where he can crawl in bed with his owner.  hat just wasn't an option here because of allergies.  I did really like the cat.  I love my husband more.

I am a little heartbroken though.  This is one really neat cat.

His human works down the street from me.  We are in contact and it will be easy to go talk to him about Waffleton.

I get this.

Dearie had decades long allergies, which increased as he aged. You need to realize he grew up as a teen with always a dog at home, then there was always a dog when he and ex had their children. He loved a German Shepherd and then later, a sheepdog.  Right up to his divorce.

When he started life as a divorced guy when I met him onward, no dog at home for a number of reasons:  one of them just unable to deal with dog when I was working fulltime and also him away for months, cycling trips, etc. Also his allergies to dog hair was increasing.

It was clear, he still loved dogs whenever his daughter would bring her dog when visiting us.

The cat allergy was higher levels than dog on the allergy test.  I wonder if it has to do with kitties delicate hairs.

Contrary to popular belief, it’s not cat fur that causes those itchy, watery eyes. Most people with cat allergies react to a protein found on cat skin called Fel d 1.
