Kirby ★ Posted January 15 Share #2 Posted January 15 Smart move. I got a similar thing, but I think different brand, for my parents when they had their house and I'm sure they saved them a fall.
Scrapr ★ Posted January 15 Share #3 Posted January 15 I have Trax. I like the micro spikes better. The Trax aren't good on bare hard pack/sidewalk/asphalt. I had the micro spikes on in December walking the dogs in a ice storm. They were awesome

Ralphie ★ Posted January 15 Share #5 Posted January 15 I’ve had yak traks in my trunk for ages but never used them. They are like springs laced across your shoe bottom so that seems a little precarious in anything except a few inches of snow, and ice is what you need them for. I did fall once on an icy spot in our local park. That hurt. If you think you can walk gingerly over ice and get away with it, think again! Go for the snow instead since it has some texture. Try it with a dog pulling on a lead. Sometimes hard to avoid the icy spots, and most areas are slick after it rains on snow.

Loaned them to his wife once and wound up with a lot of small holes in his deck. I don't have a good place to put theses on and take them off. We have a concrete floor in the three-season room.

I had them on & forgot something as I was on the porch. Probably something for the dogs. Instead of taking them off I walked very gingerly across the hardwoods.
