Ralphie ★ Posted December 20, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 20, 2014 So all the broohaha over the Seth Rogen North Korea movie, as well as a book of 54 Classic films "Not to be Missed" make me wonder aboot the state of movie making. Or basically, why is Hollyweird pumping out such crap these days? There are very few movies that I like any more. Which is a shame because there are a few that I really like. Here are a few examples: Here is the list from the book I am talking aboot. So how many of these have you seen? Very few for me - Singing in the Rain, Casablanca, The Third Man (college film class), Vertigo, parts of The Godfather, Chinatown. As far as what was missing, where was Cool Hand Luke and Treasure of the Sierra Madre? And I never even HEARD of the ones listed from this century. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/la-et-mn-kenneth-turan-on-film-20140601-column.html Below is Kenneth Turan's list of 54 films "Not to Be Missed."
