Signing away for film right

..well, my niece signed something to allow some folks to take a rom-com novel of hers, to see if they can get enough funding...for a movie. 

It might not happen but a nice little bonbon for her.

I think, it's her next one, which features the protagonist guy as a comedian and woman love interest, who is in finance (an unfunny profession), but likes to paint as a hobby. (Gee, that latter sounds familiar.. )

Will have to ask.  She was told by publisher for her donut rom-com  (just typing the latter makes me laugh), to cut out the jokes/fun lines.  Which made her realize to write the next novel to feature a comedian as 1 of the main characters.

which reminds to plot a surprise mochi donut birthday gift for another different (younger)Toronto niece soon.  She'll have to pick up those donuts to share with family/friends.  Unfortunately I can't be there, since she and I share the same birthday.

My original guess was wrong.

She wrote a series of nouvellas a few years ago, which each book (Wong series) is focused on events around a major holiday...Thxgiving, Christmas, Valentine's, etc.  The last name is....my mother's maiden name.
