Do you use in ear listening devices?

I finally broke down and bought a pair of inexpensive Anker Life P2 earbuds.  Have not used them in the gym or on the bike, etc yet.  Have worn them around the house doing chores.  Not sure I like them, but maybe they will grow on me.  Worst case I give them to one of my boys.

Apple ear buds that come with the phone.  I fall asleep most nights listing to a podcast or Audible book.  I use mine daily.

At work I use a Bluetooth ear piece for my phone.

Soon and very soon I need to get hearing aids.

The last time I used in over the ear headphones was decades ago.  These were awesome headphones.

Sennheiser HD424 Open Air Stereo Audiophile Headphones.    I don't think they would plug into my phone.

I wear ear buds on long plane ride. But otherwise, I don't use them.  Even when I worked in the office, I never wore ear buds. I wanted to hear some conversation around me since sometimes one does learn what is happening via informal chat around the office, related to work.  I've worked fine and can concentrate, with light, low chatter amongst people around me.

I actually am not thrilled to have music/other noise coming into my ears after 1-2 hrs.    I get a headache.

In ear don’t stay in my ears very well. I don’t know why. I have Shokz bone conduction phones I like a lot. They’re comfortable, sound decent and still allow me to hear around me especially when running.
The high ceilings in our old office made it hard for my hearing aids to work well. I got out of the habit again. I need to get back in the habit, but they don’t have great long term music quality.

Rarely. They make my ears hurt. Not sure what I’ll do when I need hearing aids.

They will make a custom mold of your inner ear

I had to wear hearing protection for 8 to 10 hours a day and with working with certain tools in the garage so I had custom made hearing protection. I hated those little foam ear plugs.

AirPods are what I use for listening to stuff from my phone and for making phone calls.  They also work with my computer and my Apple TV, so if I want to do a videoconference from my computer or watch some Netflix or Youtube stuff while doing the dishes, I can pop in the AirPods and not disturb the world with the external volume.  We rarely watch TV in bed, but if I did want to watch something in the bedroom, they'd be good for that too.

The ones I see on TV commercials are pretty much a standard insert, or at least appear that way.

Apple Air Pod Pros for me.

I wasn't sure about them, but they have proven to be a staple in my morning "grab",  (The shit I grab on the way out the door.)

Knife, phone, keys, wallet and air pods.  I can watch the youtubes if I need to without bothering other people.  I can use with the phone when I am walking around in the office talking to someone. I can listen to music or podcasts while I am at the computer.

I can put one in my ear and if people try to talk to me I will just point at my ear and act like I am on a call.

And the noise cancellation feature is very nice.

If something happened to this pair I would immediately  turn around and buy another.  They just work.  They connect with my phone every time.  There is never any "searching".  They just work like they are supposed to.

I joined that club just the other day - my wife lost her pair after being successful keeping track of them for a couple years (despite a few near misses).  She used my pair for a week before I got her a new pair.  But she uses them daily, so "needs" her own pair.

She was adamant at first that they wouldn't work in her smaller ears and that she would lose them if they fell out while exercising.  Fast forward a couple years, and they fit fine, and she never lost one or had one fall out of her ear.  She lost the whole darn set - case and pods - likely because she tends to misplace stuff in general, but not from any design problem.

My whole family has them.  The kids got them for Christmas I think 3 years ago.  Jen and I got ours maybe a year or two ago?  I am absolutely amazed that we have all 4 managed to keep track of them.  That is 8 fucking pods to keep tabs on!  Impressive if you ask me.

It’s more an annoying hissing

As I get older it gets louder.

Peepers.  The wonderful sound of spring peepers on a dark night - all day long!!!  And when I'm tired they get louder.

just one.

The other ear doesn't work very well.  I have hearing aids but didn't bother with the bluetooth option because I don't need to wear them most of the time

I use headphones at work, to help cancel the noise, and to try to make it obvious when I don't wish to be disturbed. (that doesn't always work).  They sound better, too.

Around the house/yard or when traveling, I use ear buds.  But I made sure I bought them with a case that also charges my phone.  Quite handy when biking and hiking.

I am a bit of an audiophile junkie when it comes to in-ear monitors;  also, over hear headphones but that's not the post subject.

For wired:

With wired I use specialized DACs (Digital Audio Convertors) with very high sensitivity for IEMs: office -> Hidiz S9 Pro, portable -> iFi GoBlu

For Wireless:
