I was watching some legal expert on tv talking about one of the current court cases, and he had a lava lamp on the table behind him. I didn't focus on anything he was saying because I was so busy watching the lamp.

It worked…

That happens to me when I watch some commercials.  I'm watching the stupid stuff they're doing and never remember what the product was after it's over, like the one with a father driving his daughter to see the ocean in a car commercial where they tell you nothing about the car.

I heard we (engineering) were supposed to get laptops...I have no idea.

I'd love to see the market share of desktops vs laptops nowadays.  I can't imagine there are many reasons to purchase desktops anymore, but maybe the incremental cost of the laptop over the desktop adds up and cancels out the value of portability in some situations.

I don't take it anywhere. Same with home. I never wanted a lap top for home use. Lap tops are a major PITA to work on.  At work I don't care because I don't service it. More people at work are getting lap tops as the years go on. Personally I wouldn't mind either way if my next work computer is a desk or lap top. Performance wise, lap tops are good as desktops to a certain degree.
