jsharr ★ Posted January 19 Share #1 Posted January 19 and saw some thing I had never noticed before. When the band is playing rawhide at Bob’s country bunker during the guitar solo, you can see John Belushi take the bullwhip off the wall. Then, in the very next scene you see John Belushi, standing at his mic, look to his left, walk over and take the bullwhip off the wall. 2

I remember one date where that was the case. At IIT, we had 50 cent movie night on Fridays in the '70's. The movies were wide screen, Panavision, etc. film but IIT's projector wasn't, so we saw the wide screen film on a narrow screen in a big lecture hall and all the bodies, etc. were horizontally much thinner than they should be. Incredibly, the human mind adjusts to what the eyes are sending to it so, after about 5 minutes, the movie proportions seemed normal! Every week! One Friday, I went to the movie with a coed named Barbara Brown who eventually became a medical doctor and worked for the CDC in Atlanta. We went to see Paul Newman star in The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean - one of my favorite Western movies to this day. Barbara loved the movie and had seen it several times before so, at least a dozen times during the movie she'd say something like, "Watch the saddle blanket on the horse now and after he turns the corner" and it would be a different blanket as the scene switched to a new camera angle, etc.

That's why Blooper Reels are so popular. One of those IIT Friday movie nights included a Star Trek TV blooper show where we were all handed "Tribbles," - really small, dyed cotton balls - as we entered the theater and listened to a woman get "starship" and "captain" reversed and said, "I've never kissed the starship of a captain before," and Captain Kirk laughed and replied, "Well you can kiss mine!"

It is littered with stuff. That movie is great, and I imagine an INSANE time filming it. There are also trivia bits as well: John Belushi disappeared while filming one of the night scenes. Dan Aykroyd looked around and saw a single house with its lights on. He went to the house and was prepared to identify himself, the movie, and that they were looking for Belushi. Before he could, the homeowner looked at him, smiled and said, "You're here for John Belushi, aren't you?" The homeowner told them Belushi had entered their house, asked if he could have a glass of milk and a sandwich, and then crashed on their couch. Situations like that prompted Aykroyd to affectionately dub Belushi "America's Guest".
