We are going to Boston and London this year....

I didn't realize you were a baseball fan!

Honestly, while I really enjoy a baseball game, all sporting events are too much of a time sink for me to take while on vacation.  In London, I'd have 1,000 other "new to me" things to do. A soccer game? Maybe, but a US baseball (or football) game is something I can do at home.  Since you did the whole living in England thing, though, you might have knocked off all the stuff I would want to do already.

But... "We figure that we should travel while we are young enough to do so." is TOTALLY A GREAT IDEA!  All the plans you have are sweet!

Ballparks I have been to:

Oriole Park at Camden Yards, RFK and Nationals Park in DC, the Vet in Philly, Fenway, Fulton County in Atlanta, Jacobs field in Cleveland, GABP in Cincinnati, the Kingdome in Seattle, old Anaheim stadium, Dodgers stadium, Petco Park in San Diego. On the short list to visit: Pittsburgh, St Louis, Rangers in Arlington, Detroit, and Denver.

I'm way behind :(

I've only hit Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Yankee Stadium, RFK and Nationals Park in DC, the Vet in Philly, and the Kingdome in Seattle. I walked around Fenway, but didn't go to a game. Pre-Nationals, I used to like to get tickets to Baltimore-Yankees at Camden Yards for me and some of my siblings.  They'd come down from Jersey, and I'd go up from here, and it was WAY easier for all of us to go to a fun game, eat lots of tasty stadium food, have fast & easy access, and relatively cheap tickets - especially compared to any game at Yankee Stadium.

In June to London to see the Cards play the Cubs two games

When we visited London, there was a shuttle train from Heathrow to Paddington Station in London.  https://www.heathrow.com/transport-and-directions/by-rail-or-train/heathrow-express

We took the train into London, and needed to take the tube for 1 or 2 more stops that was close to the hotel. We took a taxi for the return trip.  The taxi was kind of expensive (compared to the train) but we didn't need to carry all of the luggage in the tube. (that was a pain)

We walked and took the tube to just about everywhere.  Some places (like Stonehenge, Oxford,) we took trains and/or a bus.  We visited Stonehenge the day after the summer solstice. Some of the Druids were still there.

Driving thru the Boston area on one vacation... no offense @Square Wheels they drive like crazy people there.   (Says the guy who has driven in Chicago traffic for many decades.)

So be careful driving in Boston...

my parents are from Boston. I can drive in Boston and not be scared. It’s an attitude. Yeah, they’re Massholes, but I can be one too. Not ashamed to admit it.

When I was in college, one guy in our dorm had a car.  I went with him ONCE in the car.

We went to a shopping mall in Milwaukee.  He needed to make a left turn into the mall.   The left turn lane was backed up a LOT.  Nope... he just drove in the left lane of traffic, when we got to the place to turn... he just turned. :frantics:  There were 2 lanes of traffic heading right at us.  I figured we (or at least I would) die soon since they were going to hit my side of the car.  He just kept going. :frantics:

I asked him... more like WTF...   Why did you do that?     "They have brakes."

I never rode with him again.

Pittsburgh is a place I want to go someday.

The Pittsburgh ballpark is great, the team owners not so much.

Mrs. is a big fan, we used to go regularly, always got the same handicap seating, and got to know all the ushers and ticket people. Everyone was very nice, and went out of their way to help with Mrs. (she was in a wheelchair at the time)

I miss those times.

Jerry, do everything you want to do, you can lose the ability to do so in the blink of an eye.
