On the bike, I expect I may see a benefit related to carrying around less weight... and an impact in the loss of my leg muscles.  Kind of eager to see which one wins.

It's easier to add muscles than remove weight for most folks! You'll get the power back quickly.

Have fun on your ride.  It's too cold (for me) here 34 for a high tomorrow.

I was still down at 233 this morning

(not that I pay much attention to BMI, but that's a "healthy" 24.4...)

Wow... you are TALL.   (not that I pay much attention to BMI)  ;)

If you are anything like me I started out very weak. Then just as I was getting stronger I had to stop riding (doctor’s very strong suggestion). When I got off the drug I was taking my strength came back quickly.

When i leave my neighborhood there's a stop sign, and then I go straight up what's maybe a 1% or 2% grade. I generally stand through that and I felt that little grade more than I ever have. As i got warmed up, some of the steeper hills felt more normal.

slow and steady

Maybe I shoulda gone slower. I made dinner tonight - real cooking, not just heating up stuff from the freezer - and between that and the bike ride I am wiped.
