bikeman564™ Posted January 24 Share #1 Posted January 24 I never keep this program on, and people call and message me on there what's the sense of having a phone then? So now I have two phones
Razors Edge ★ Posted January 24 Share #2 Posted January 24 We use it all the time for messages, meetings (no video but sharing screens), and "phone" calls (which are essentially also "meetings"). I'm fine as it leaves my personal cell phone free, and I don't even know my current office phone number (since I've only been to the new office once since COVID). But I have a phone number. And this new fangled phone system has text options which is like messages...I guess.
MickinMD ★ Posted January 24 Share #4 Posted January 24 The thing that bugs me about text messages is when someone puts half a dozen of us in a group message, then a huge number of messages go back and forth for half an hour, while my landline smart phone;s voice keeps announcing, "Message from xxxxx." My sister texts to many people, "(Son) Ryan is in town for two days. Can we meet for dinner?" I text back, "Any place and time is good for me. Just tell me where and when." Then several people text back and forth to zero in on the time. "Is 6 o'clock ok for everyone?" Another dozen texts back and forth. "OK, if Gary and Suzanne can't come, how about a restaurant closer to us?" Another dozen texts back and forth. I text, "Anywhere's fine, like Mi Pueblo or Olive Tree." "OK, 6 pm at Olive Tree." I text: "I'm assuming this is the Olive Tree on Ritchie Hwy near Furnace Branch Road." "Yes." Another half-dozen texts to confirm before it's finally done.

I tend to "silence alerts" once the craziness starts. Anything more than two folks in a text thread is a recipe for chaos. 1

Randomguy Posted January 24 Share #12 Posted January 24 I like teams for some things. I use the phone parts internally, because I don't use a company phone.

shootingstar Posted January 24 Share #14 Posted January 24 People seldom use Teams phone. They use chat with me for work stuff. Sometimes I feel it should be by email because occasionally it requires I give a verified answer or vice versa. That the correct info. was given on x date. THis is why I dislike texting on personal basis. It's just more wasted time for simple transactions solved in 50% less time by a phone call. I don't text hardly with friends (except for 1 because she does it alot) and hardly with family because especially for latter, I live in another province....2,000 km. away. It's not intelligent conversation for me,not knowing major things going on with my family.
Square Wheels Posted January 24 Share #18 Posted January 24 In my old job I lived in Teams. Now I rarely use it.
