What are the odds this envelope will reach me by mail?

I signed up for "USPS Informed Delivery" service, where they email you pictures of the mail you're getting, back when mail delivery was awful in 2000 - 2001.

Here's the picture of something that's supposed to arrive.  What a stupid thing to do: $600 in big black letters and "Enjoy up to" in tiny, dim letters!

It's probably a reward for signing up for a low-interest savings account or charging a shitload of money or not paying-off my statements each month so they can collect interest.  I hope the mailman/woman who steals it is very disappointed.

Is mail theft a thing?

In our area, yes!  Also, our local nextdoor.com site has multiple doorbell videos of mailmen throwing mail on the sidewalk in front of yards without getting out of their vehicles. They get rid of the mail quickly and can blame mail on the sidewalk on local jerks.

They very slowly get rid of those workers and it's beyond ridiculous.

Personally, when I got my Passport renewed, I drove 15 miles to an Annapolis suburb's Post Office than go to my local Post Office or any other incompetent, untrustworthy one centered in Baltimore City.

Ouch!

We've had the same guy for a decade or more.  Drives up, feeds the mailbox, and drives off.  Never any theft or random bits floating around the neighborhood.

I will say, 90+% is junk mail so goes straight into the recycling or shred bin, but I've never not gotten mail I thought I should get.

If it's like our mail service, you'll get it but probably about 4 days from now.

The USPS Informed Delivery started out as a semi-secret way of tracking who you sent mail and who sent mail to you. Law enforcement sometimes likes to know about those things. Once the word got out, the USPS tried to lessen the backlash by making it a 'service'.

That is a serious level of paranoia. It's junk mail. Do people really steal junk mail? I got one in my box today.

Thanks. Except it wasn't a credit card offer. It's for opening a checking and savings accts. You have to set up direct deposit and put $15k in the acct. I'd appreciate it if your deposits are in my name please.
