shootingstar Posted February 15 Share #1 Posted February 15 A long-time close friend wrote in a published article which she acknowledges her shock in national news, post investigation of sexual abuse by a long time Catholic priest among a small circle of other faith adherents. Fortunately their morally wrongful actions, didn't affect people living at a series of group care homes for the mentally challenged, etc. worldwide. Instead of focusing narrowly on one person, my good friend says it is better to focus on the communities worldwide where marginalized residents have been supported and cared for. She and her hubby knew the guy (he was Canadian) since they helped run a group home in Metro Toronto. Her article today says this: For better or worse, we are all part of many interlocking stories, whether those are ordinary, exciting, disturbing, or inspiring. Part of the work of peacebuilding is to open our hearts to the many stories around us, especially stories of lives shared across differences.
