Kirby ★ Posted February 15 Share #1 Posted February 15 I'd have potsed this in pro-cycling subforum, but I can't get the password to work and this isn't a spoiler anyway. NBC/Peacock has signed a 6 year extension for coverage of the TdF, but starting in 2024, there will only be "select" stages on NBC. Don't know if that means they're moving away from cable coverage on USA etc after this year. https://www.velonews.com/events/tour-de-france/nbc-sports-peacock-secure-tour-de-france-media-rights-on-six-year-extension/?utm_campaign=&utm_content=&utm_medium=organic-social&utm_source=velonews-twitter Quote Beginning in 2024, all stages will be presented live start to finish exclusively on Peacock, with select stages simulcast on NBC. 1
Airehead ★ Posted February 15 Share #2 Posted February 15 I think this means we need to buy Peacock. How do I do that?

I get it for free since my cable company is Comcast, but it's just like HBO or any other streaming service. You subscribe, but I think you can cancel at any time and aren't tied up for a year. Also on the plus side, Peacock is currently streaming all 3 Hallmark Channels. On the plus side, looks like they're picking up some other race coverage too. Quote The Tour rights are part of a larger deal between NBC and ASO, the owners of the Tour de France and other cycling properties. As part of the agreement, NBC Sports will present several more ASO events throughout the year, including the Vuelta a España, La Vuelta Femenina by Carrefour.es, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, Paris-Roubaix, Paris-Roubaix Femmes avec Zwift, La Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Criterium du Dauphine, and Paris Tours.

If you have a streaming service, just select the Peacock app, install and sign in. No cost yet unlike those bastards at CBS.

But they're not switching until 2024, so there's no rush. 1

They do a shit job that gets shittier every year, and they gobble up a bunch of other events that they do an even supremely shittier job with than they do to the TdF. It's the LOSE-LOSE-LOSE situation where they keep digging a hole and the few folks who actually enjoy cycling get screwed more each year.

ChrisL Posted February 16 Share #13 Posted February 16 I rarely watch the entire live feed so I’m fine with the highlights on YouTube after the fact. I won’t be signing on for any additional services. I do have a decision to make in April though. I have a cable plan with a fixed number of premium & sports channels. I can change the channels anytime I want as long as I don’t exceed the total number. So currently I have the Lakers Network but not the Angels. Both teams will be in season in April & May so I’ll have to add my Angels & omit something else…
