KrAzY Posted December 28, 2014 Share #2 Posted December 28, 2014 I guess that all depends on what you are pulling in.. You should be able to keep more then you are paying out. I worked in a family business for many of years.

Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted December 28, 2014 Share #5 Posted December 28, 2014 I would say it should be no more than 50% of what you dispense in monetary gifts to your imaginary friends on your favorite bicycle Forum.

Scrapr ★ Posted December 29, 2014 Share #8 Posted December 29, 2014 Suzi Many people use 25-30% as a employee payroll percentage. But that really depend on the industry. What % have you been at? What was that % before you took over? Are you making 8-10% profit? You don't have to answer here. Just designed to make you think. You may want to talk with a Small business Development Center. I believe it is a government program staffed w/former executives. Pretty sure it's free. Maybe a Community college class would help. Or find a business coach. I've used one off and on for 20 years. I'm starting back in January to work on some specific issues I'm having. This is building block issues.
