team scooter Posted December 30, 2014 Share #3 Posted December 30, 2014 The gas caps are on the passenger side of our cars. On the list of safety features that the salesman needs to rattle off, the reason its on that side is if you run out of gas, you won't be standing in the road as you pour gas from a gas can. So I need to walk the whole way around the car to put gas in the car because I might run out of gas. I haven't ran out of gas since I was a broke teenager putting a few dollars in a gas guzzler car in the 70s. I asked if they put the cap on the other side on the cars they sold in England and he said no, its a safety feature exclusive to the US.
Ralphie ★ Posted December 31, 2014 Share #4 Posted December 31, 2014 All our Honda's are on the drivers' side. There is usually an arrow indicator on the gas gauge.
Ralphie ★ Posted December 31, 2014 Share #5 Posted December 31, 2014 Whew! I am glad THAT is over! I was afeared it might be one of those circular animated GIFs and I'd be stuck here all night.

Randomguy Posted December 31, 2014 Share #7 Posted December 31, 2014 There is a tiny arrow on the fuel gauge in all cars in the US. The arrow points to the side of the car the gas goes into.

JerrySTL ★ Posted December 31, 2014 Share #9 Posted December 31, 2014 I liked my old 1960 Chevy. The gas cap was under the rear license plate so you could reach it from pumps on either side. Rear end collisions weren't the best thing though.....
