Longjohn ★ Posted March 16, 2023 Share #12 Posted March 16, 2023 I got my son Dan in at the Forge. He worked there until he saved up enough money to buy a car. Then he quit and moved to western Ohio where his girlfriend lived.

ChrisL Posted March 16, 2023 Share #15 Posted March 16, 2023 As in career choices no but my daughter is wired similarly as me and is progressing quickly in her field as I did in mine. My son takes more after my wife’s family and is a bit of a wanderer not really knowing what to do with his life. Edit: My oldest brother took after our dad & was an electrician. My middle brother is more of a hands on guy like our dad was too & is a mechanic. My mom always said I reminded her of her dad who was a plantation manager, avid hunter & fisherman. JerrySTL ★ Posted March 16, 2023 Share #24 Posted March 16, 2023 None of them joined the military so in that respect, no. However my youngest daughter one-upped my being a mechanic by becoming a mechanical engineer. My youngest daughter and I both earned BS Education degrees. I taught in the military and at a local college. She teaches high school chemistry. My son is a CPA which I probably couldn't do. Math is hard. Zephyr Posted March 16, 2023 Share #29 Posted March 16, 2023 No. I found out later that my son had thought about it, but he never spoke to me about it and I never asked. He made the right choice and his current career is much better suited for him 2
