I highly suggest you don't unless you want to walk away depressed.  I had no idea they had had so many officer suicides after seeing and working the hopeless situation in the border states.

You can, sadly, find suicides all across different fields and demographics.

Yes, but not in the same numbers.  Things are nasty and they are in a damned if you do, damned if you don't position with multiple groups willing to kill you and refugees in a heartbeat. Not a nice place to be working these days.

I think the numbers are high across any of those fields - military, police, and border patrol.  Suicide in general is atrocious in the US, and the folks in those fields are definitely at high risk.

It is a "volunteer" job, so digging deeper into who does it and why is also likely to turn up reasons for any differences.
