Remember, an hour of your time when you're a kid is a tiny fraction of the time you have left. When you get to be our age, that is not even remotely the case anymore. The characters tend to be reprehensible, but in an interesting way. I like the way they all got drunk at lunch everyday, and all the banging that went on was interesting, too. Enjoy! 2
Ralphie ★ Posted March 24, 2023 Author Share #6 Posted March 24, 2023 There seems to be pretty intense interest in the “new girl”!
Ralphie ★ Posted March 25, 2023 Author Share #7 Posted March 25, 2023 Ahh, just discovered that the wife is played by January Jones, so a nice RR connection.
BuffJim Posted March 25, 2023 Share #8 Posted March 25, 2023 BuffCarla got me into it a couple years ago. Pretty interesting. Lots of Big Apple scenes and references. 2

Zephyr Posted April 1, 2023 Share #16 Posted April 1, 2023 What interested me was that show represents the period of time of my mom as a working woman..., and what she would have experienced. And what she would have been experienced as she entered dancing competitions with a black dance partner. All she has said was it was a bit of a scandal 2

Stephen King's novel Hearts in Atlantis, has the most gripping description of life as a working woman in that time period. It fascinated and sickened me. She used to dance with Willie O'Ree some too, before he became the first black player in the NHL I have not read that King story. Will have to check it out

Ralphie ★ Posted April 2, 2023 Author Share #20 Posted April 2, 2023 Binge watching can be dangerous. January Jones did a bang up job in this.
az_cyclist Posted April 2, 2023 Share #21 Posted April 2, 2023 I have watched episodes at times, but never an entire season. For the most part I enjoyed the series. You are correct in there is long term character development. Jon Hamm seems to be good at less than loveable characters.
Ralphie ★ Posted April 8, 2023 Author Share #22 Posted April 8, 2023 Around the season 2-3 transition it is getting a little flashbacky, which is leading to disorientation similar to what I had in Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad.
