JerrySTL ★ Posted January 2, 2015 Share #3 Posted January 2, 2015 I was just watching a little bit of The Beverly Hillbillies before work this morning.
Ralphie ★ Posted January 2, 2015 Share #4 Posted January 2, 2015 Linky Back in the day, she was smokin'! Oh yeah! Hmm - after reading that obit I tried unsuccessfully to find her singing gospel on Youtube. There was a UK singer with the same name and she is the only one I can find. But I did find this gem. Beautiful and charming lady.
Road Runner Posted January 2, 2015 Share #5 Posted January 2, 2015 Of all the actors and producers of the show, only Jethro (Max Baer, Jr) survives. He is 77.
Ralphie ★ Posted January 2, 2015 Share #6 Posted January 2, 2015 Of all the actors and producers of the show, only Jethro (Max Baer, Jr) survives. He is 77. He seems like the ultimate type-cast actor that never really did a thing after his big run.

Given my druthers, I druther be type cast as Mr. Spock.

Destination Posted January 3, 2015 Share #9 Posted January 3, 2015 Yeah, and type-cast as Jethro Bodine. Given my druthers, I druther be type cast as Mr. Spock. Now I'm picturing Star Trek if he had been given the role of Mr. Spock. (And I'm wondering how The Beverley Hillbillies would have played out with Leonard Nimoy as Jethro.) Ralphie ★ Posted January 3, 2015 Share #10 Posted January 3, 2015 Now I'm picturing Star Trek if he had been given the role of Mr. Spock. (And I'm wondering how The Beverley Hillbillies would have played out with Leonard Nimoy as Jethro.) Sounds like your next job might be as a writer for SNL! One of my favourite skits ever was Sartresky and Hutch. John Belushi as Sartesky of course. Oops! My memory sucks! Akroyd was Sartresky. I should be able to remember 1977 more clearly than that! Sartresky & Hutch Summary: The philosophical Sartresky (Dan Aykroyd) and the rough-and-tumble Hutch (John Belushi) mediate a hostage situation involving an old friend (Bill Murray).
