Ralphie ★ Posted January 10, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2015 I can't get decent radio reception lately on my portable music thinghy, so I am mining the old recorded stuff. Just listened to Finlay Quaye and now Franz Ferdinand.
UglyBob Posted January 10, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 10, 2015 I have a USB turntable (with cassette) coming that should be delivered today or monday. I will be digging out all of my old vinyl and tapes so I can rip them. I'll report back on this question in a couple of weeks... For now, my playlist is heavy on Warren Zevon, Dropkick Murphys and Neil Young.

Ralphie ★ Posted January 10, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted January 10, 2015 Franz is pretty good for something that I just have because my daughters liked it. They must have got their good taste from their old man.

As a engineer-dweeb, I always thought it would be cool to have a graph of heater cycles - sump pump too.

This Franz stuff reminds me a tad of Neil's Crazy Horse stuff, with its hard driving style. Neil is one influential bastard. Warren is always good, too. I was just thinking how cool an old Warren would have been, maybe sort of like the gracefully aged John Prine.
