Road Runner Posted January 10, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2015 I was talking to my brother a few days ago and he was telling me about a friend of his that had become an avid cyclist while living in Colorado. It seems he was involved in a terrible cycling accident and was seriously injured. He is now paralyzed from the waist down and is confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. This is one of my worst nightmares about cycling.
petitepedal ★ Posted January 10, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 10, 2015 One of my fears too...I brake on hills and turns and well...hey I am careful but there is that other people factor...and the unseen...
Ralphie ★ Posted January 10, 2015 Share #3 Posted January 10, 2015 I wonder if he was bombing down a Colorado mountain at ludicrous speed? I think my innate slowness and the flatness of NJ roads helps my odds a tad, but you never know when your number is up. It probably is not all that wise to pursue our recreation on the roads. It thoroughly pains me to say it, but maybe running has a slight advantage in the avoidance of major injury department.

But that isn't an option for me. Now that I think about it, cycling is more evil than running. I destroyed my knee cycling, so now I can't run!
