MoseySusan Posted January 14, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2015 Say it with me, now. We're currently on two hour delay, but the snow is still coming down. mr. says the status probably won't change until the busses attempt to get out on the roads in another half hour. Let it snow! Square Wheels Posted January 14, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 14, 2015 Living in the north, I guess I always presumed the south was always sunny and warm, with winters going down to the 70's. I always felt bad you never got snow days.
MoseySusan Posted January 14, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted January 14, 2015 We get a snow day for ice more so than snow. Whatever comes down in the morning is usually melted by noon.
jsharr ★ Posted January 14, 2015 Share #4 Posted January 14, 2015 Schools are open in Plano. I had frost on my windshield. It was touch and go for a bit here too.

Parr8hed Posted January 14, 2015 Share #8 Posted January 14, 2015 I think she is high desert, is that right, RS? High, low...It's still desert. There are sand, cacti and lizzards. It can't snow.
Randomguy Posted January 14, 2015 Share #9 Posted January 14, 2015 High, low...It's still desert. There are sand, cacti and lizzards. It can't snow. I drove through a blizzard in ABQ once, trying to get to REI to get some fleece pants to sleep in while camping, because it was cold as hell. Winter camping is kind of fun, but the novelty wears off. MoseySusan Posted January 14, 2015 Author Share #12 Posted January 14, 2015 No snow day. The road in front of my house had two inches of accumulation and slush, but a mile north was just wet with no snow on the ground. Then five miles further north was foggy and wet with a trace of snow on the ground. We're at over a mile elevation here, so even though our overall average precipitation is at desert levels, we still get a good snowfall from time to time.
