Page Turner Posted February 21, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted February 21, 2015 It was ok and I admire his courage but I needed more. . ...well of course you did. You are a unique individual. You actually like squirrels, ffs. My generation is on the way out, and each death I have felt as an abruption, a tearing away of part of myself. There will be no one like us when we are gone, but then there is no one like anyone else, ever. When people die, they cannot be replaced. They leave holes that cannot be filled, for it is the fate — the genetic and neural fate — of every human being to be a unique individual, to find his own path, to live his own life, to die his own death.
AirwickWithCheese Posted February 21, 2015 Share #4 Posted February 21, 2015 Don't misunderstand, I thought it was great especially the section you highlighted. I just needed more about him personally...... I do love squirrels indeed.

Wilbur ★ Posted February 21, 2015 Share #6 Posted February 21, 2015 Eloquently written but it is a little concise. An enjoyable a read as you can get on dark subject we all face eventually. Thanks for posting it Page.
Ralphie ★ Posted February 21, 2015 Share #7 Posted February 21, 2015 Eloquently written but it is a little concise. An enjoyable a read as you can get on dark subject we all face eventually. Thanks for posting it Page. It is pretty darn poignant when someone knows their days are numbered, like Warren Zevon. I'll have to read some of Sacks' books - they sound right up my alley.
