Kick the tied-thread idea to the kurb. Even better, make a field trip in the Spring. We can ride while the quilt is made. We eat good food and can visit Bourbonville and the Parr8hed family. In the summer a bunch of the ladies get together under the shade of the neighbor's maple tree and work on quilts. Some of them sell at the school auction for well over $400.
