Dirtyhip Posted February 23, 2015 Share #1 Posted February 23, 2015 When I pour hot things into a strainer...it fogs up my glasses. Also, lifting lids on simmering items causes this effect. <four eyes here>
2Far ★ Posted February 23, 2015 Share #2 Posted February 23, 2015 Yeah 20/400+ and over 40 yo (way over) Walking outside in the summer in the south, same thing as opening a hot dishwasher. Lousy peripheral vision (movement only). Not many choices for cool sunnies. Hideously expensive Z-87+ for work. Hard to establish head position while riding. If I ratchet them tight so I can see through them, they fog up from my body heat. Being so blind that if I don't remember where I set them down, I may have trouble finding them. Now, I have a small cataract in my left eye.
Wilbur ★ Posted February 23, 2015 Share #3 Posted February 23, 2015 Being outside in -30 degree weather then going inside to lift a lid in order to pour things into a strainer.

Longjohn ★ Posted February 23, 2015 Share #9 Posted February 23, 2015 I don't mind glasses at home but glasses at a restaurant or bar you always wonder how clean they are. For some reason I have a very hard time finding eye glasses that fit. The place we are supposed to get our prescription safety glasses turned me away after they had ordered in a half dozen pairs for me to try and it was obvious that none of them even came close. My last work glasses were actually a pair of Nike sunglasses that I had clear industrial lenses installed.
Zephyr Posted February 23, 2015 Share #10 Posted February 23, 2015 You can't put a turtleneck on while wearing your glasses. If you have a nap before a nightshift, then forget you already have your contacts in and put your glasses on to go to work, within a half hour your head will hurt so bad you will be convinced your own brain hates you
Dirtyhip Posted February 23, 2015 Author Share #11 Posted February 23, 2015 I can't use contacts from what I understand. My issue is astigmatism. <not sure if my grammar is correct there> Strange word. My focus sucks and gets worse as the day progresses. I can't see print and close up things. Luckily, the trail is still very visible for me.
Road Runner Posted February 23, 2015 Share #12 Posted February 23, 2015 I have worn glasses since I was four years old. I have no experience NOT wearing them. One of the things that I dislike about not wearing them is that I can't see worth a shit without them.
