What are the great plains known for?

Wait a minute, are they the dry-rub people?  I don't cotton to that method, that stuff is crap (compared to other bbq methods).

No my ignorant friend, dry-rub is more of a Memphis style barbeque.  Kansas City is better known for sweet tomato based sauces

Sunsets in Nebraska will spoil you for anywhere else!

My sister from Lincoln was just mentioning that during her visit last week.  She explained how her and her landlord both don't understand how the typical person from Nebraska has no interest in the beauty of their sunsets.

I've had people from hilly areas find out that riding flat ground is harder than they thought because you are ALWAYS pedaling! There is no coasting down hills!

I'd rather cycle in the mountains than in hilly country. Mountain roads, despite their ups and downs, tend to follow contour lines, while in hilly areas roads tend to go up and over, sometimes quite steeply.

In flat areas where I've cycled, elevation gain was not a factor, but the constant west wind could be demoralizing
