Road Runner Posted February 25, 2015 Share #3 Posted February 25, 2015 You're in luck. The Ides of March is the 15th. Of course, for a colonoscopy, the real fun is the day before.
Allen ★ Posted February 25, 2015 Share #4 Posted February 25, 2015 Yeah, the 16th is fine. You get an armful of Valium and wake up with a greasy butt. You're in luck. The Ides of March is the 15th. Of course, for a colonoscopy, the real fun is the day before. Drinking a gallon of that witches' brew, that's a forced march. I'd rather slam my hand in a car door almost. Longjohn ★ Posted February 25, 2015 Share #6 Posted February 25, 2015 I see things are looking up for you Petite. I had mine yesterday and it was a breeze, new drugs, no side affects that I could see. It wasn't as interesting as the one I had fifteen years ago when I got to watch the whole thing on the monitor. This one I took a nap and missed all the action.
Dottleshead ★ Posted February 25, 2015 Share #7 Posted February 25, 2015 Yeah, the procedure is the easiest thing you go through. You're knocked out and then you wake up. It's the 'prep' beforehand that scores all the points.
Longjohn ★ Posted February 25, 2015 Share #8 Posted February 25, 2015 My prep kit cost $120.00, my insurance paid part I paid $78.00. From the stories I have been hearing I think it was money well spent. The kit had two small bottles. The first one I had to pour into a 16 oz glass and then fill the glass with water and drink it. I had to drink two more 16 oz glasses of water within the hour. This was at 7pm the night before my colonoscopy I spent the next two hours near the bathroom. I went to bed and set my alarm for 3am, got up and did the same thing with the other bottle. By six am I pooped crystal clear water for the last time and my wife drove me to the hospital for my scope. It wasn't nearly as bad as people make it sound. Dottleshead ★ Posted February 25, 2015 Share #9 Posted February 25, 2015 No but pooping straight clear liquid is kinda weird. I'm pretty sure if I sat on top of my house I could spray the neighbors lawn.

jsharr ★ Posted February 25, 2015 Share #11 Posted February 25, 2015 Wait just a minute here? Prep kit? Appt? I just get a ball gag and a spanking before and a moist towelette and $50 after, but the guy that does mine works out of his van. Do you guys get them monthly too?

You should probably avoid letting that guy do an endoscopy on you.
az_cyclist Posted February 25, 2015 Share #13 Posted February 25, 2015 all of my prep was over the counter. not sure but the total cost (not counting 64 oz of gatorade) was probably less than $50. and Longjohn, I was awake (but in the twilight zone) for my first but was out like a light for this one
Former member Posted February 25, 2015 Share #14 Posted February 25, 2015 I spent less than $20 on the Ducolax pills, powder mix, and 2 bottles of Gatorade. Longjohn got ripped off.

Ralphie ★ Posted February 26, 2015 Share #16 Posted February 26, 2015 I spent less than $20 on the Ducolax pills, powder mix, and 2 bottles of Gatorade. Longjohn got ripped off. Mine was totally covered because it is preventive. I wonder if the bastards will back-charge me if they find any polyps?
