Randomguy Posted February 25, 2015 Share #1 Posted February 25, 2015 It is still cold on the east coast. Sunny and miserably cold is at least 4% better than cloudy and miserably cold.
Former member Posted February 25, 2015 Share #2 Posted February 25, 2015 Winter tried to make an appearance here in December, but Arizona is too tough for winter, and we haven't seen him since then.

TrentonMakes Posted February 25, 2015 Share #6 Posted February 25, 2015 The sun is very strong now - there was a day last week that the temp didn't even reach 20, but we still got lots of melting on the driveway. But our forecast includes a low of 4 degrees in a couple nights. Still most definitely winter here.
Destination Posted February 25, 2015 Share #7 Posted February 25, 2015 Winter appears to be over, or at least making a rapid departure. Our snow has been gone since early February. For the past two weeks, I've had the liner out of my jacket.
smudge ★ Posted February 25, 2015 Share #8 Posted February 25, 2015 We hit 31 degrees yesterday!! However, that was in between snow storms/squalls or whatever the hell that was. Next few days back into the freezer and then we get a few days of 20's. Whoo hoo!
jsharr ★ Posted February 25, 2015 Share #9 Posted February 25, 2015 We had ice and sleet on Sunday night. In Texas, that will shut things down for a day or two. Then it snowed, sort of, around 8 this AM. I am surprised they let the kids go to school, but they did.
Road Runner Posted February 25, 2015 Share #10 Posted February 25, 2015 Big snowstorm coming in tonight and tomorrow. If winter is on the run, it seems to be running straight at us.
Longjohn ★ Posted February 25, 2015 Share #11 Posted February 25, 2015 I spent most of the morning watching them try to get the truck that delivered my firewood unstuck from my driveway. The more they worked on it the worse it got. They tried moving the roll off box to the back and up to put more weight over the drive wheels. The box slipped sideways and now they couldn't get it back on the truck or off the truck. They finally got it out about a half hour ago.

Johnny Come Lately Name Posted February 25, 2015 Share #13 Posted February 25, 2015 What the hell is wrong with you? With me? Lots. With the weather? Not a damned thing. If we're going to have "winter" I would just as soon we have winter not "four months of cold, dark and wet" like we've had the last few. I went out and skied on the lake last night for about an hour or so. I will probably take the snowhshoes and go out behind my house when I get home tonight. What's not to like about that? Former member Posted February 25, 2015 Share #14 Posted February 25, 2015 Winter is trying to make a comeback in AZ. It's 2pm and only 63F, with a windchill of 62F. If these temperatures continue, I might have to find my armwarmers for early morning rides.

It makes me laugh when people complain about their weather unless it is unusual for that area. When I lived in Leadville CO, I loved cold snowy weather. Now I enjoy the SW desert. You can only undress so far for the heat, without winding up on the sex offender list. And as for your "equatorial Irish descendants"....well, any further from the equator and the Irish would be Inuit, but that doesn't matter, since they haven't been born yet.... Sure, you can dress for the cold, but you will always be cold and you can't breathe and your pores can't see and you can't address your PRI through the thousands of layers you have to wear. Why do you have a problem with summer? Aren't you optimally set up for 80 degrees or so genetically like everybody else? Don't you like chicks in bikinis? I am optimally set up for whatever the season has to offer, after a period of acclimation. I never said I didn't like summer, only that I liked winter too. Too much of any one thing gets boring.Chicks in bikinis are sexier than chicks in parkas, you know. That may be so, but I'm not.
