Popular Post Nate Posted March 9, 2015 Popular Post Share #1 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Trenton wants to see more pic threads but he doesn't have any bikes or a camera. So naturally the older generation will have to bail him out early 60s Schwinn cruiser I restored a few years ago. The springer front fork and the original seatwere AWOL. If my friend would have had all the original parts, this would have been an expensive bike notice how clean everything is... Here's me with my Schwinn LeTour restoration. I still have this one. We would have killed for a bike like this when I was a kid This is what I ride now. This was the bike I raced and if you really want to fly... and if you ride around this area, you better be ready to share the road So there you have a bike pic thread like what the younger generation was asking for but couldn't provide for themselves. Once again, it is the older generation doing for the younger generation who can't quite manage it. I hope you kids get your shit together someday soon. I'm counting on you to be competent enough to run an old folks home someday Edited March 9, 2015 by Nate
TrentonMakes Posted March 9, 2015 Share #2 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Wait - where's the 32T cog? Thanks for enabling my laziness. I didn't want to get out of bed so I had my dad post this for me. (I just humbly believe my bikes aren't exactly the kinds of photos people want to see) Edited March 9, 2015 by TrentonMakes
UglyBob Posted March 9, 2015 Share #3 Posted March 9, 2015 Ok Nate, I'll play. Here is the 1989 Schwinn Paramount Pro MTB I set up for bikepacking. My current carbon roadie. The Dave Montague folding tandem. Same bike in the case. My single speed 29er' My track bike. My 1991 Waterford built Paramount. You realize I could go on like this all day, right?

TrentonMakes Posted March 9, 2015 Share #5 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) and re "the younger generation"... haven't we been through this? nice pics, UB. honestly, after looking at my own bikes for so long, I think that frames smaller than about 60 cm look odd. Nate Posted March 9, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted March 9, 2015 and re "the younger generation"... haven't we been through this?yes, I believe we have discussed this at some length. the overall consensus is that young people are fucking useless as tits on a tom cat unless you are talking video games, in which case they are worth their weight in Xbox controllers

Page Turner Posted March 9, 2015 Share #10 Posted March 9, 2015 This is the Rauler I just rode for the first time yesterday, after quite a bit of restoration. The paint is still kinda half-assed, but that's what you end up with if you want to maintain what remains of the original stuff.

Page Turner Posted March 9, 2015 Share #15 Posted March 9, 2015 what's that frame made out of, Page? ...both DB steel, the Rauler is Columbus SL, I think. I forget what Schwinn was using in the Paramounts in the early 70's, but probably Reynolds 531.Nice, Page. I'm a sucker for the vintage stuff......I can no longer park a car in the two car garage, that's how out of hand it's gotten here. There are just sooooo many high end steel bikes around here now, and all the money is chasing plastic bikes, so I have ended up with a buncha stuff that, like Nate said, I wouild've killed to have back in the 70's-80's. F_in Ray Of Sunshine Posted March 9, 2015 Share #16 Posted March 9, 2015 Nice, Page. I'm a sucker for the vintage stuff... What's an original '79 Lotus Unique - almost all original - worth to you? I bought it new, rode it for years and loved it. Now when I go back and ride it, I just go "eeeeewwww" hang it up and go back to my new stuff... TrentonMakes Posted March 9, 2015 Share #26 Posted March 9, 2015 Reminds me [a little] of the first 27" Panasonic roadie I got, in 1988 - in that it was the same yellow-on-red color scheme (bars were black though). Loved that bike - I still get pissed off thinking about the night I worked late and returned to the train station to find it was stolen (it occurs to me that will be 20 years ago next month). Page Turner Posted March 9, 2015 Share #34 Posted March 9, 2015 Another pimped out Italian. The cable housings were a little long at this point, since shortened. I just did the final adjustments on an old Raleigh Pro, and need to go for a ride. Hopefully, there will be no pavement testing.
