Speaking of rings...

I wear my wedding band during the day and take it off at night before I go to bed.  I do not like to leave the house without it.  I take it off also when working with power tools were it might get hung up and when sailing generally.  Biking I am about 50/50 on versus off.

Mine sits on my ring finger below a permanently swollen knuckle from a basketball injury.  It will not come off.  I almost took a trip the the ER to get it cut off at the time of the injury but I toughed it out with several more hours of ice and elevation.

I had a job for years where wearing a ring wasn't allowed. During those years I seldom wore the ring.

Now I usually wear it except to bed or when working around machinery and electrical devices. I will take if off for long walks and jogs as my fingers tend to swell up.

I only wear it when I go out anywhere, pub crawl, Home Depot, yadda-yadda, especially in the boat.  I take it off when I'm around the house.  I've seen too many fingers really mangled when a ring catches on something.  Scares me.

I have not wore my ring since the day after I got married to my wife.. My job is very hands on and rings are a big no no if you want to keep your finger. I do have a ring tattooed on so I at least look to be married:)

Same here..

I wear mine most all the time.  I've worn out two gold wedding rings.  I bought myself a sterling silver band and right after I bought that my wife bought me one.  I always wear gloves when working so my ring hasn't got caught in anything and ripped my finger off yet.  When I'm in good bike shape my ring slides off too easily so I usually have a season when I don't wear a ring.

There is also the crushing hazard to consider.  Be safe out there, LJ!
