Scouting Tragedy over the weekend

Torrential rains and flash flooding hit Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico on Saturday night.  Four boys were swept away when a flash flood hit their campsite.  Three were immediately rescued but one was not and lost his life.

They were on a 12 day trek at Philmont.  A trip to Philmont is often the pinnacle to a Scouts career and takes months of training and preperation.  You and your crew do a multi day unsupported trek through remote terrain.

I cannot imagine what the other scouts in the unit, it's adult leaders, parents and the staff at the camp are going through right now, but they could use any prayers, vibes, thoughts that you can offer.
