It looks like you had decent weather.  You can use a cyclocross bike on that trail, but a mountain bike is nicer.  Did you stop at the various informational signs along the trail?  How did you like the long tunnel (with a sign at the mid-point) and the trestles?

I didn't notice the mid-way sign on the way out because the tunnel was foggy with about ten feet of visibility, if that. But I saw it on the way back because the fog had cleared. Suspension would have made all the difference. My brain was sloshing around my skull from the vibration. Serious headache at about mile seven. The tandem did great, though.

We plan to spend about an hour on the Centennial Trail alongside the Lake at Couer d' Alene this morning before driving to Canada somewhere. A few years ago, we rode it to the Washington state border with a friend. I'd like to come back and ride more of it.
