LoneWolf Posted July 2, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 2, 2015 The Nikon Coolpix P900. 83x (the equivalent of 24-2000mm) optical zoom. http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/07/nikons-83-2000mm-equivalent-superzoom-camera-is-astonishing/
maddmaxx ★ Posted July 2, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 2, 2015 I have it's baby cousin the L810. Only 26 zoom. Nice camera with one minor quirk. The zoom control is very fast leaving one often over zoomed or under zoomed. In other words it's difficult to be very precise with the zoom. LoneWolf Posted July 2, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted July 2, 2015 People have already used the video function to show you can get detail shots of the Statue of Liberty --from the World Trade Center. Or get reasonable closeups of the moon, and in video mode, actually capture the rotation of the Earth. For $599, this thing is amazing. The one thing it should have and doesn't is a hot shoe for an accessory flash.
