maddmaxx ★ Posted September 12, 2015 Share #103 Posted September 12, 2015 I've read that an old curse was "may you live in interesting times" these are interesting times. The ice ages and dinosaur bones in Montana prove that the climate has changed drastically, without our influence. I'll bet we can out do them.
Dottleshead ★ Posted September 12, 2015 Author Share #104 Posted September 12, 2015 There's dinosaurs in Oregon. In fact, a raging fire is still burning in John Day city where the site is. Ironic.

No, over 400,000 acres have burned in central and eastern Montana this year. They just got control of a 100,000 acre fire north of Ashland the other day. Fires seem to be cropping up daily over here, due to sparks created by horse shoes, equipment, and lightning on rare occasion when there is a cloud. We are extremely dry with only 4" of precipitation falling on many areas since the first of the year. Yes, if you are wondering trees do grow in central and eastern Montana, so it is not only grass and brush that is burning.
Dirtyhip Posted September 6, 2017 Share #119 Posted September 6, 2017 I can not believe this fire season. It is horrific in Oregon. North Umpqua is on fire. It is probably one of the longest and most beautiful biking areas in our state. Smoke has been horrible. I have not been able to ride for a couple of weeks. This sucks. This map shows your state is on fire. It also shows that if you live in Klamath Falls -- you're dead. Wait. DH? Zephyr Posted September 6, 2017 Share #124 Posted September 6, 2017 we are back in the smoke here on the island after a couple weeks of clear skies. We are a loooong way from the fires in the interior, but are actually ending up with ash on our car here. It almost makes me hope for the rainy season

Well it's not country by your standards sheep. But it's rural enough and we love it. For instance it's so quiet at night. I love not being in the maze either.
