Popular Post Parr8hed Posted September 10, 2015 Popular Post Share #1 Posted September 10, 2015 I am supposed to go to the dialysis place tomorrow for another (3rd?) interview. He wants to talk about positions. Guess I had better study up on some internet porn tonight.

Popular Post Parr8hed Posted September 11, 2015 Author Popular Post Share #6 Posted September 11, 2015 Got offered the position of Clinical Manager. It is partially hands-on and partially management. It seems very similar to my Charge Nurse position that I did in the ER. This position is where they promote a FA or Facility Administrator from. That would be the Administrator for the whole facility. He made no secret of the fact that he would like to groom me to be a future FA. The position of Clinical Manager would be a day time position. This facility is open Monday, Wens, Fri. It is a salary 40hr position. I would open (5 am) and be on the floor until night shift RN got there (around 9 am) and then do mostly managing type duties. I could work 4 10's, 3 12's and a 4, 3 11's and a 6, however I want to work it. I would do management type stuff there on days when the clinic is not open. There is much opportunity in administration to move up. This is truly a worldwide company. They money is almost there. It's not quite what I make now, but a heck of a lot closer than the last job. They will pay a large percentage of my phone. I think that I have made up my mind that I am going to take this job. The guy that interviewed me made no secret of the fact that they were bringing me in for a reason. that facility had a staff that was not meshing well together and morale was a little low. Since it is a few blocks from the hospital where I was charge nurse, there are a few people that have worked with me that now work at the dialysis center. They all had good things to say about me and said that I was the guy to turn it around. I am somewhat flattered, but that is a lot to live up to.

Further Posted September 11, 2015 Share #17 Posted September 11, 2015 I know you'll pull the staff together. A staff triathlon, a troublemaker or two are found in the Mississippi, it'll all come together. Seriously you are the man for job. Congratulations. Airehead Posted September 12, 2015 Share #20 Posted September 12, 2015 Explain the schedule to me again. Is there an opportunity for bus driving at all? If not, you will make less without the extra money the big yellow gives your family. Is the total decrease an issue? Well unless you can drive the bus too and then it would not be a decrease. Well unless you can drive the bus too and then it would not be a decrease. The clinic is open mon wens fri for dialysis. I would work at 5:30 am those 3 days. I have to work 40 hours. I could do 3 twelve hour shifts on those 3 days and make up a 4 hour shift on tues or thurs (doing paperwork, management shit) in the office. I could work 4 ten hour days. I could do 3 eleven hour shifts and a 6 hour shift. I would need to be the nurse on the floor from 5-9, but after 9 am (when the night shift nurse reports in) I would do manager type shit. It is more along the lines of being in charge of the nurses and techs on the floor than being in charge of the actual facility. There would be about 6 months of training that went into this roll just to learn dialysis. I would say that this is a roll that will take 1-2 years to fully feel comfortable in. Pretty similar to the roll I am in now. It took a long time to get used to it.

They put us through the same renal nursing class as the RNs. The nurses had the advantage of the medical background, but I knew the machines inside-out so it all balanced out.

Wilbur ★ Posted September 13, 2015 Share #27 Posted September 13, 2015 Sounds like a great opportunity. Make sure as manager, you are given the teeth to make decisions on personnel. Restoring morale isn't an easy task and no doubt, changes are required. Those are the tough decisions. Good luck!
