The wife and I went that morning to get our wedding license. We received the blessing of the courthouse and then were escorted out the doors and they locked the place down. I received a phone call from my father about what happened, and then about 20 min later I started receiving phone calls and was told to directly go to the Fire Station to be on standby. I also received calls to see if my SAR gear was ready along with my dog incase our team was to respond for search and rescue. I did get the option to run logistics for our SAR team and Task Force 1 from the two counties I volunteered for at the time... It was a busy few days for me with a lack of sleep.

Was just about to leave the house for work when the first plane hit. Stayed home to watch the news and then the 2nd plane hit.

History channel is showing "102 Minutes That Changed America" right now. It's very hard to watch.

happened early in the day out here in the West. I just got done swimming laps. Walked into a 7-11 for a am coffee and the guy had a TV on. I'm like what's going on? He says a plane flew into the Towers. A few weeks b4 there was a Cesna or something in DFW area that flew into a building. I'm like...that's strange. A copycat in NYC.

Then the 2nd plane flew in and everything changed. We still worked most of the day. I think we had the crew go home about 3:00 pm or so. Should have let em go home right away at 7:00 am.

I didn't see any video until I got home late in the day. I was like OMG

I was at home, my son called from Germany and asked if I had the tv on.  I told him I didn't.  He said turn it on.  I asked what channel? He said it didn't matter.

On a positive note I have been working this week on "raghead elimination devices" that's what the foreman called them.  I hear they work quite well.

The wife was in the shower.  I was waking up (we worked 3rd shift at the time).  I was getting our gear together to go out of town and see Jimmy Buffett in Indy that night.  I turned on the Bob and Tom show.  They were somber.  Like I have never heard them before.  I could just hear in their voices that something was wrong.  Tom said to turn on a TV.  I did.  The first plane had hit.  Terrorism didn't even cross my mind.  I though it was a horrible accident.  Right about that time the second plane hit.  I told the wife to get out of the shower and watch this.  I had just gotten out of the reserves and we were both wondering if I would get called up again.

I was on the trans Canada highway in northern Ontario on my way home from the west coast. I had spent the night at a truck stop about a half hour east of Thunder Bay.

For some reason, I chose not to turn on the radio when I got rolling in the morning. (I do that sometimes) I was about an hour down the road when I finally turned on the CB and heard the chatter.

Radio reception is spotty up there, the best chance is finding the nearest CBC affiliate. I listened to reports as I could find them.

I had just moved to Fl and was living in a camper at an RV place. I was watching Good Morning America as they got word of a fire at Trade Center. They switched to an external camera as the 2nd plane went into the building.

I ended up going to work that day at best buy. I was loss prevention, we turned all our security monitors to the news and watched in stunned silence all day. No overhead music, PA calls all day, silence.

I was at work. My supervisor came in and turned the radio up and told us what was going on. A bit later one of our guys parents called to let him know that his brother, who worked near the watch, was ok. He was already in the field so I went out and found him and one other guy and let them know. I think they sent us home early that day too.
