I tried my damnedest to pull the front end up and over, but gravity prevailed, Big ouch!

Ralphie ★ Posted September 30, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 30, 2015 (edited) Some kids in my neighborhood can ride a block or two on a wheelie! Little bastard came up and rode beside me doing a wheelie the whole time while I was heading out for a bike ride. Page Turner Posted October 1, 2015 Share #9 Posted October 1, 2015 http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2015/Thirteen-Manufacturers-Distributors-Recall-Bicycles-with-Front-Disc-Brakes-to-Replace-Quick-Release-Lever/ There have been three incidents reported in which an open quick release lever on a bicycle’s front wheel hub came into contact with the bike's front disc brake assembly and caused the front wheel to come to a sudden stop or separate from the bicycle. In one incident, an adult male suffered a broken finger, a wrist injury, a shoulder injury and abrasions. No injuries were reported in the other two incidents. ...it appears to cover anything with a front disc brake and a QR. I'm uncertain if any such bicycles are excepted. Pokey Posted October 1, 2015 Share #11 Posted October 1, 2015 So...let me get this straight...if you leave your QR lever in the open position your disc(k) brake may cause you to loose the front wheel? Why not just close the freaking lever?Or did I misread. I've been know to do that on occasion.

Many people have simply switched the quick release so that the little offending lever handle is on the opposite side from the disc rotor, but closing the goddam thing is always an excellent idea before riding your bicycle.

Pokey Posted October 2, 2015 Share #15 Posted October 2, 2015 Yes, but now you will be protected from yourself........or your lawyer will make you rich for being careless. I've never forgotten to tighten the quick release lever. Lever for the brakes? Different story.
