Nate Posted December 5, 2013 Share #4 Posted December 5, 2013 I hadn't heard anybody mention his name in years, but yea, he really was a great player. this thread reminded me of one time that I heard him on Don Kirchner's Rock Concert when I was still in grade school back then there was no "recording" tv of any kind, so I had one of those portable cassette recording decks, and I put it up to the TV speaker and recorded him playing on the show, then listened to that tape until I wore the tape out
Square Wheels Posted December 5, 2013 Share #5 Posted December 5, 2013 back then there was no "recording" tv of any kind, so I had one of those portable cassette recording decks, and I put it up to the TV speaker and recorded him playing on the show, then listened to that tape until I wore the tape out My technique was pretty high tech. I'd turn on my Toot-a-loop, hit the record buttons on the cassette deck, place a plastic barrel over the two to keep out background noise. I miss my Toot-a-loop.
