Randomguy Posted December 5, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 5, 2013 Can I tell you how excited I am? Very excited!!! The company is being bought and I will be going into a Manhattan office instead! No more of the crap state, the crappiest state of all will cease to be (in my mind), it will seem like a fading nightmare soon! Yay!

kingtermite Posted December 5, 2013 Share #3 Posted December 5, 2013 That's awesome! Congrats!! On the day I met my (now) wife, she told me she was originally from New Jersey. I said, "I'm sorry". She just replied "Thank you. I'm glad you understand.".

The funny thing is that I think I said exactly what you said to your wife when I found out. Exactly.

tybeegb Posted December 5, 2013 Share #9 Posted December 5, 2013 Great news. But I'm a pessimistic optimist when it comes to things like that. If this were me, I wouldn't believe it until I actually sat at a desk in the new place, name on the door/cubicle, whatever, then I would have to pinch myself for a while to make sure it actually happened. However, I would almost bet you will be daydreaming one morning and headed to NJ out of habit.

We had been hearing for months that this was going to happen, but I didn't get excited because concrete details weren't being spilled, or conflicting things were going around. I was looking for another job because I don't like to be kept in the dark and I didn't want to come to NJ at all any more. NJ really is a horrid place. Ralphie ★ Posted December 6, 2013 Share #13 Posted December 6, 2013 how can you guys bash Ralph's home state? Really! Actually I consider PA more my home state, since I grew up there. South Jersey is a very well kept secret.
Square Wheels Posted December 6, 2013 Share #14 Posted December 6, 2013 I was in NJ for a wedding a few years ago. We travelled through some scary looking industrial areas, but ended up at an awesome B&B in the country. Beautiful area.

Road Runner Posted December 6, 2013 Share #16 Posted December 6, 2013 Those scary looking industrial areas are just the guards at the gate of the Garden of Eden. So the "Jersey Shore" is just a modern version of Adam and Eve?
