Popular Post jsharr ★ Posted December 9, 2015 Popular Post Share #1 Posted December 9, 2015 I was born in the city of Richardson, Texas in the 1960s. In 1970, we moved to Edmond, Oklahoma. In 1977, our family moved back to Richardson, Texas and my parents bought a home in an area called Canyon Creek, which is a heavily treed subdivion with three creeks flowing through it. In 1999 my wife and I bought that home from my parents and it has remained sort of untouched since the 1980s. It is the only home I have known for the majority of my life and one of only three houses that I can remember living in. It is full of memories for me. Today my wife and I started a new journey in that home, as we began demolition for a major remodel. Last night was bitter sweet as I walked through the empty rooms of the house as they have been for as long as I can remember for the last time. At 7:30 this morning, I was walking through those rooms with the designer and contractor, discussing final details prior to demolition. Exciting and sad at the same time. By 8 AM, hammers were beginning to tear apart my home and a tear was beginning to form in the corner of my eye. I will miss the old place, but I will love the new place just as much.

bikeman564™ Posted December 9, 2015 Share #3 Posted December 9, 2015 Totally understandable, the feelings you have. Something about walking through an empty house of memories. I hope the demo and remodel go well and you are happy in the end

They have been great so far and everyone we know who has used them has been impressed and given positive reviews. We asked friends and neighbors for reccomendations and got three guotes / designs before making our choice. I am confident they will do a great job.
Randomguy Posted December 9, 2015 Share #6 Posted December 9, 2015 Did you take "before" pics? I know you posted the floorplans, but those are evocative of nothing for someone that hasn't lived there. I can't wait to see the "after" pics, though, when will everything be finished? Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted December 9, 2015 Share #9 Posted December 9, 2015 Wait a minute... Those pictures don't quite match up with the previously posted floor plans. For example, I don't see any pictures of the area that was identified on the plans as "Jsharr's Den of Iniquities"...

jsharr ★ Posted December 9, 2015 Author Share #11 Posted December 9, 2015 First pic is looking into den from sunroom Second pic is front hallway into den. The small room middle back will become our new laundry / utility room. Last pic is the kithcen. The wall to the left where the ducting is hanging will go next. Kitchen, den, hallway and sunroom will become open plan.

You are as wrong as wrong could be. Paneling made that room dark. It is gone, as are two of the three walls that were paneled.

jsharr ★ Posted December 10, 2015 Author Share #26 Posted December 10, 2015 Yes, my contractor is a hottie, so what? On the coolness meter, there is this. Apparently when my parents bought this house, the stripped the wallpaper in the kithcen and put up new wall paper. When the wall paper came down yesterday, this was under neath. That is all in my handwriting. One is an up / down button for an elevator. One is the numbers for the floors 1 through 9. One is me telling my mother hello. @Page Turner should like this.
