You are on the wrong side of the lake. New York and Pa almost always gets more lake effect than Ontario does.

The snowmobile web sites have lit up because they're calling for just enough snow to ride in the UP. Thousands of my close personal friends packed into one small area, bumping into each other. No thanks.

That's why we quit snowmobiling in some of the "hotspots." Too many people from Chigaco, Milw, etc coming up here for a weekend of riding all out along with drinking all out... and bragging how they pushed that Yamaha off the trail. Really? So we just stuck to the less traveled trails. Now we're too old and beat up to go sleddin'. dammers.

Saw on the news this morning that area was supposed to be hit hard with snow... and not us. Sorry.

Used to be you could go up midweek or ride the forest roads to avoid the crowds. But the internet (information at your fingers without needing to do your own homework ) ruined that too. :(

Oh fer shure!! When I was getting too tired and couldn't face the "scenic" aka twisty UP trails, I would tell my husband, "Let's take Hwy 13 toward Rapid River." Dayamn that was fast and fun!!!!!  Straight shot of packed snow. Whoo hoo!!!!
