AirwickWithCheese Posted December 16, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 16, 2013 I was driving my Dad's van this morning when I heard a loud pop. Had the van towed to garage and now I'm waiting for the phone call. nerve racking
jsharr ★ Posted December 16, 2013 Share #2 Posted December 16, 2013 You had the van towed due to a back fire? I feel bad for your dad. He probably wanted a real son.
AirwickWithCheese Posted December 16, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted December 16, 2013 No, much more. I'd type my guess but I am hoping for a Christmas miracle.

Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted December 17, 2013 Share #5 Posted December 17, 2013 I hope they call to tell you not to chew bubble gum while driving.
JerrySTL ★ Posted December 17, 2013 Share #6 Posted December 17, 2013 So Pop's popped? I hope that the nerve racking wasn't a steering rack. That would be bad news.
Zealot Posted December 17, 2013 Share #7 Posted December 17, 2013 So did the van just quit running when you heard this 'pop'? Or did you just pull over and call a tow truck? I'd think you'd have had to have some sort of failure prior to getting it towed.

Chopped Liver Posted December 17, 2013 Share #10 Posted December 17, 2013 Towed over a blowout? Man, that's depressing.
AirwickWithCheese Posted December 17, 2013 Author Share #11 Posted December 17, 2013 Haven't test driven van yet and can't until after 8 tonight because of work. The bill I was given by garage makes no sense because it's too low considering all that was wrong. I'll know tonight but right now it's a Christmas miracle. :)

Scan and post the bill or I am calling BS on this. I still want to know about the John Deere mower in the ditch and what came of that.
AirwickWithCheese Posted December 17, 2013 Author Share #13 Posted December 17, 2013 Scan and post the bill or I am calling BS on this. I still want to know about the John Deere mower in the ditch and what came of that. I'll do that, but won't be until after 8 pm. MomCheese picked van up for me since I'm at work. She said it's driving great. I'd get excited but I'll wait until I have a chance to drive it for myself The JD had a bent drive shaft because I pushed it while it was still engaged. There was no mechanic class at my prep school. :(
jsharr ★ Posted December 17, 2013 Share #14 Posted December 17, 2013 Ask MomCheese to scan the bill and email it to you so you can post it here. Or have the garage do it, tell them you want to sing their praises to the world. Just do it. I do not want to wait until 8. Also, when will my lighted pig ship? Sounds like your Christmas miracle should enable funding of the pigs, no?
AirwickWithCheese Posted December 17, 2013 Author Share #15 Posted December 17, 2013 Maybe not. I celebrated the news last night by buying 2 more aluminum Christmas trees. :)

I am going to call BS here as well. Hear me now and believe me later, you do not have the strength to bend a drive shaft with your puny girlie man body. JerrySTL ★ Posted December 17, 2013 Share #18 Posted December 17, 2013 What were the codes? Also I agree with the above that there's no way in hell that you bent a driveshaft by pushing the van unless it was pushing it over a cliff.

Keep up please.
Mr. Silly Posted December 17, 2013 Share #20 Posted December 17, 2013 I call BS, how would anyone know if the deer's name was John and I find it highly unlikely he would own a tractor.
AirwickWithCheese Posted December 17, 2013 Author Share #21 Posted December 17, 2013 I wish you were correct. My girlie man self did bend the drive rod? Or so I was told and charged for,..... this was 2011 if memory serves. The JD has a pin in the back that needs to be pulled out if you get stuck such as Cheese found himself stuck in a ditch. It hurts me that you challenged my manhood. :(
