Popular Post Randomguy Posted July 17, 2016 Popular Post Share #1 Posted July 17, 2016 "Marginal Gains" - A short play by Randomguy Cast of characters RG - RG's brain CVS - Cardiovascular system RL - right leg LL - left leg Scene 1 On a bicycle, riding up Fourmile Canyon to the Gold Hill/Salina/Wall Street junction, where the pavement ends. It is a sunny day and very scenic and warm, and the ride is about 6 miles into a 6.5 mile climb with about 1,100 ft of elevation gain. <riding along, suffering in a good way> CVS : "We rode yesterday, and a bunch of days last week." RG: "Yeah, and?" CVS: "So, I guess this is, like, going to be a thing? Didn't we go through this years ago?" RG: "Yeah, and it was good for us." RL: "But this is hard work, and we aren't set up for this." LL: "Yeah, we just want to hang out and grow hair. This whole riding thing is a bit of a shock" Jens Voigt, off stage <"SHUT UP, LEGS!"> RG: "Are we not getting slightly stronger already?" All: <grumbling> "I guess so" RG: "Are we not already a tiny bit faster?" All: "Well, maybe" RG: "Ok, can we all climb to where the pavement ends, and then turn around for a sweet high-speed sweeping downhill?" CVS: "Can we get ice cream when we are done?" RG: "Sure." All: "YAY!!!" -The End-
