Dirtyhip Posted January 9, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 9, 2017 A wonderful local doctor died this weekend, in a sledding accident. Sadly, she and some others were sledding down a neighborhood street when she was hit by a car. The car rolled over her. She has passed. This is tragic. We are all reeling in shock. She did so many great things for our community. She had her finger on the pulse of our community health needs. She helped to start a clinic in Uganda and did all kinds of work there before we had her in our community. She was a great person. I don't think she set out in the morning thinking that she was going to engage in potentially dangerous behavior. We should never sled in the city streets. Especially, if there are intersections that must be crossed. Her organs have been donated to help others. This is what she would have wanted. Kirby Posted January 9, 2017 Share #2 Posted January 9, 2017 I am so sorry to hear this DH. I'm glad at least they were able to donate the organs and some good will come from this tragedy.

Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted January 9, 2017 Share #7 Posted January 9, 2017 That is sad news. As teens we used to sled in the street but we took turns watching for cars at crossings. Drivers need to be more alert too.
