Nate Posted January 9, 2017 Share #2 Posted January 9, 2017 they have been getting good draft picks, then they picked up Tortorella as a coach in the off-season and they've been having a decent year there's been this NHL dream of igniting a rivalry between my Pens and the BJs, since the cities are only a couple hours away. Columbus has been a place that you can go and see the Pens if you haven't been able to get tickets to a home game in Pittsburgh for a while now, but if they were any good, it could be interesting. The thing about how well their year has been going, though, is the fact that I don't believe the franchise has ever been beyond the second round in the playoffs, so talking "Cup" is a little premature but they sure had a great winning streak going...16 games. Beat some top teams on that stretch, too
Wilbur ★ Posted January 9, 2017 Share #3 Posted January 9, 2017 BJ's don't happen in hockey. There is a strict "don't ask, don't tell" policy in place.

Why? because Bettman thinks a half-assed American market is better for hockey than a major hotbed of Canadian ice hockey which is why Winnipeg went without a team for years when there were teams playing to empty arenas in Atlanta, Arizona, and Florida

Those are some good games. It really is from our arena being overrun with Pens fans. (Kind of like the douchebags from Cleveland that sold their tickets to Cubs fans.) It causes some had feelings. There is always a few fights in the concourse when these two play. The playoff series a few years back really made the city hate the Pens. The other game that you should always get tickets to is the Kings in Columbus. BJ fans hate Jeff Carter with a passion. Even more than they hated Adam Foote.

Nothing like Pens/Flyers and then there's the Islanders.... we met in the playoffs, our goalie broke their goalie's jaw a few years ago....its ugly so compared to all that in our own division, you guys are like a little yapping dog, really
