Damn stinkbugs crawling out of the woodwork

Further

Recommended Posts

They usually are a bother in the fall, when they are trying to get in the house for winter, and less so in the spring, when they want back out. This showing up in the middle of winter is unusual. All I can think of is that it's been very cold lately, and any that were hiding near outside walls or windows may be looking for a warmer spot. Or, the heat running as much as it has, has warmed the damn things up and now they think it's spring.

Anybody else got stinkbug issues ?

I've never noticed a stinkbug stinking.

Gently hold one between your finger and thumb, raise it to your nose, in rapid succession, squeeze the bug, inhale sharply through your nose, lick your fingers.

It's similar to tossing back a shot of tequila, licking salt off a pretty girls neck, then sucking lemon from her teeth..........only different...

Yes we have had a few and not just your ordinary run of the mill stink bug.........

Over the past few years, more and more reports have come in to Michigan State University Extension regarding the brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) taking up residence in homes and businesses – especially in the fall. If you are not familiar with this bug, BMSB is a 0.5- by 0.625-inch shield-shaped insect that is a voracious eater of a wide variety of wild and cultivated plants. Also known by its scientific name, Halyomorpha halys, both BMSB adults and nymphs – the immature stages of the bug – feed on a number of important fruit, vegetable and ornamental crops and have become a major pest for growers in mid-Atlantic states where it was first detected in the late 1990s.
