Further Posted January 9, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 9, 2017 They usually are a bother in the fall, when they are trying to get in the house for winter, and less so in the spring, when they want back out. This showing up in the middle of winter is unusual. All I can think of is that it's been very cold lately, and any that were hiding near outside walls or windows may be looking for a warmer spot. Or, the heat running as much as it has, has warmed the damn things up and now they think it's spring. Anybody else got stinkbug issues ?

Gently hold one between your finger and thumb, raise it to your nose, in rapid succession, squeeze the bug, inhale sharply through your nose, lick your fingers. It's similar to tossing back a shot of tequila, licking salt off a pretty girls neck, then sucking lemon from her teeth..........only different...

TrentonMakes Posted January 10, 2017 Share #9 Posted January 10, 2017 I happened to see one yesterday - but there haven't been many around lately. I recall the time I took a coffee cup out of the cabinet, and poured a cup, not realizing there was a dead stinkbug in it. On a scale of 1 to 10 that tasted pretty damn foul. Kzoo Posted January 10, 2017 Share #11 Posted January 10, 2017 Yes we have had a few and not just your ordinary run of the mill stink bug......... Over the past few years, more and more reports have come in to Michigan State University Extension regarding the brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) taking up residence in homes and businesses – especially in the fall. If you are not familiar with this bug, BMSB is a 0.5- by 0.625-inch shield-shaped insect that is a voracious eater of a wide variety of wild and cultivated plants. Also known by its scientific name, Halyomorpha halys, both BMSB adults and nymphs – the immature stages of the bug – feed on a number of important fruit, vegetable and ornamental crops and have become a major pest for growers in mid-Atlantic states where it was first detected in the late 1990s. The Mrs says they get tired of the same old same old. It takes a few days before they get accustomed to the new flavor. I know this one doesn't smell like fish like the last one.
