Popular Post Mr. Beanz Posted January 13, 2017 Popular Post Share #1 Posted January 13, 2017 I don't care what anyone says but facebook is a good thing if you don't get too caught up in too much. I use it to keep in touch with friends and family. I might complain once in a while but I don't use it to fight or bicker with people. When that starts, I delete those people. So I really use it to interact with people. Usually if friends don't reply or respond, I delete them as it is much easier to keep track of people of which do interact. So yesterday I see this strange post by my daughter. At first I try to figure it out and think of the many things it could mean but it was strange the things she was saying. Then knowing she had panic attacks in the past, I figured she may be in trouble so I called her about 2 minutes after the start of trying to make sense of her post. Sure enough she was parked on the side of the road with her 3 year old son. She was trying to drive herself to the hospital after figuring something was wrong. She couldn't see and said she could not understand what she was reading. While driving, realized she was in trouble so she pulled over. I called her and realized she was in trouble. So I talked to her and calmed her down. She was very frightened thinking she was having a stoke. The things she told me sounded like a migraine. So it eased her mind to hear that she would be OK. Years ago she had an attack and the paramedics hooked her up on a monitor and though she was gasping to catch her breath, the monitor showed she was actually getting too much oxygen to her brain. So again I calmed her down and told her to try to control her breathing in order to it down. She had somehow managed to call her hubby who works a few minutes away so he was on his way to pick her up from the side of the road. He took her to the hospital and it turns out it was a panic attack again. Sure glad to hear it was not a stroke or something more serious. She was given meds to lower her BP as it rises during the attacks. Glad I called her and glad I could see something was wrong in her silly post. She said she could not write or think straight while trying to get her message across on FB that she needed help. So going from scared SL to a calm state while waiting for help really put her at ease. We spoke and I could tell she was calming down and making sense so it was a relief to know she was OK at that point. She thanked everyone in a post who helped her out. She has some good friends over there in a smaller desert town. But it is 2.5 hours away and I cant just drive down there when something happens. So really, this is one of those things that works out on FB. She has been working real hard at converting her business from one building to another so i think those sleepless nights and 16 hour days remodeling etc got to her. Like my migraines, they seem to hit when all is complete and your mind relaxes to an almost vulnerable state. When she lived closer, I could run over and help her but the long distance is a different story. But glad I was able to help in someway and I see she was happy about it as she posted this on her FB page today. 34 and still my Baby! Growing up, the fastest one to ever react was my father. Whether I needed a push to try harder, or I needed someone to pull my body out of bed because I was limp from my attack. It was always my dad busting down the doors to save me. Yesterday reminded me that although he doesn't live near, my dad is still the first to react. There's something comforting, at any age, to have someone strong tell you it's going to be ok. Although I hardly remember anything he said, I wasn't so alone and worried about Bear in that moment. Thank you Daddy!
Ralphie ★ Posted January 13, 2017 Share #2 Posted January 13, 2017 This was too long to read in one sitting, and I want to go walk Ruby now, but I'll go out on a limb and like it anyway. And thank you for trying to extend the attention span of the average drivel-spouting forumite.

Meh, my posts are more about just finding a way to post pictures anyway!

Just your imagination! The grandkids in the pics are mine. Gina is the stepmother to my daughters. My girls were 3 and 4 when we met 30 years ago. Her sons were 5 and 1. Now the older guy is 36 and my older daugther 35. Funny though, I posted this pic about 7 years ago and a poster said she took after Gina's side not knowing she is the stepmother.
